Sure, when you have as many patrol cars on the streets as residents, car insurance rates will be pretty low. The cost comes in the form of skyrocketing taxes which are coming soon to Carmel–almost all of their recent growth is with borrowed money, and much of the new tax revenue the development was supposed to lead to hasn’t materialized. So in the next few years Carmelites will be brought crashing back to earth: Either than can suck up massive tax increases or suck-up massive cuts to their bloated law enforcement infrastructure.

And they won’t choose tax increases (too many republicans) so they’ll choose “cut the police” and then you can say “so long!” to low car insurance rates, because car thefts, break-ins, and DUI are all radically lower than they otherwise would be due to their saturation policing model.
