Popular parks events are back
By Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation
Join Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation and have fun this September at two of our most exciting community events.
Barktember – Dogs wait all summer for a day when they can cool off in The Waterpark. We have teamed up again with the Humane Society of Hamilton County for this annual event. Bring your four-legged friends and join us on Sept. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. at The Waterpark. The event will feature dock jumping, live music, vendors and water-time fun for your dog. Large dogs may enjoy jumping in the Lap Pool with quite a splash, while the smaller or hesitant pups take their time feeling out the waters as they approach our zero-depth entry Kiddie and Activity pools.
Cost for this event is $10/dog, with proceeds benefitting the Humane Society of Hamilton County. Liability waivers must be signed before the event. Register in advance, online at www.carmelclayparks.com.
Tour de Carmel – Tour de Carmel, scheduled for Sept. 14, is in its ninth year and is an enjoyable family-friendly event that routes participants through neighborhoods, parks and businesses on their bicycles. The event has three route options: 10-mile, 20-mile, and 10-mile adaptive route – all are great for the beginning rider, leisure recreation family or more experienced cyclists.
Tour de Carmel has become a family-favorite and is supported by a number of volunteers, businesses, and community organizations. We are excited to offer some changes this year, which include decorated and themed rest stops with live music, food, and fun, highlighted Carmel historical landmarks along the route and an eye-catching and noteworthy start/finish. Cost is $8/person and includes food and entertainment at each of the rest stops, safe riding, fun facts, and a memorable experience. Register in advance, online at www.carmelclayparks.com.
