Pedcor Companies announced that it has executed a lease with renowned, Indiana-based artist, Walter Knabe. The new Walter Knabe Studios located on the second level of the Indiana Design Center will be complete this summer.

Walter Knabe’s handcrafted artwork and designs include wallcoverings, fabric, and other home décor and
can be seen in the collections of Chanel Inc., Eli Lilly & Company, Michael Jordan, Madonna, The White House and Richard Gere, among others.

“The addition of Walter Knabe Studios to the Indiana Design
Center exemplifies how the design center concept is attracting leading design professionals and industry businesses to one central location,” said Melissa Averitt, Vice President and Director of Marketing and Sales for Pedcor Companies.

Knabe’s second level showroom will serve as a gallery, meeting space and production studio where projects will be managed from concept to completion and will include the screen-printing technique that Knabe developed while working for Andy Warhol.

“I look forward to working from my new studio at the
Indiana Design Center. The mix of talented designers, artists and business owners represented in the building will inspire great work and success among one another, “said Knabe.

Walter Knabe Studios will join The Trade Source, J. Baker/Albert Square Ltd., and the Outré showrooms already open in the building. The Indiana Design Center also houses design professionals, such as Julie O’Brien Design Group, who have relocated their businesses to the design center. Along with several other showroom tenant negotiations underway for 2010, the Indiana Design Center is currently leasing space for a 4,200 square foot design resource library, a central feature of the design center. The resource library will include product catalogs and samples and product showcase opportunities for manufacturers.

      For more
information about opportunities in the design resource library, please contact the Indiana Design Center at 317-218-0002.
