      Fishburn to lead CarmelFest parade

Indianapolis Police Officer, Jason Fishburn, will be the Grand Marshall for the 2010 St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana Parade at CarmelFest.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Celebrating American Heroes”.  According to Parade Chairperson, Peggy Powell, “Officer Fishburn was our first choice as Grand Marshall since he embodies the spirit of a true hero.”
On July 10, 2008, Jason Fishburn suffered a near fatal gunshot wound to the head while leading a police chase to apprehend a homicide suspect. His bravery and miraculous recovery have been an inspiration to the community. For his heroic actions, Fishburn was awarded the Purple Heart and Medal of Honor by the IMPD.
