Memorial Day ceremonies at Carmel and Crown Hill cemeteries
Gov. Mike Pence will honor fallen heroes today by offering remarks at Crown Hill Cemetery’s 146th annual Memorial Day ceremony.
The ceremony is at 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery, 3400 Boulevard Place in Indianapolis.
The Indiana Army National Guard’s 38th Division Band will perform a patriotic concert beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be attorney Greg Garrison, the very popular WIBC (93.1 FM) radio host. Also included in this special ceremony are the Roll Call of Fallen Hoosier Heroes, a 21-gun salute conducted by the Indiana Army National Guard and patriotic music provided by “The Central Sound,” a Lawrence Central High School choir.
Following the ceremony, at 3 p.m. there will be a guided Veterans Walking Tour with Crown Hill Guide/Historian Tom Davis. Meet Tom behind the stage.
To find the ceremony’s location, enter either cemetery gate and follow the white line painted on the road. (The easiest way to get to the chapel is to enter the 34th St. and Boulevard Place stone gate entrance and follow the white line on the road up the hill.)
