Flatbed Twitch Trio to bring variety to NYE at Palladium in Carmel
By Mark Ambrogi
Brady Jacoba likes to make a little joke about his band Flatbed Twitch.
“I say I’m the only one of the six guys that knows we’re a country band,” Jacoba said. “My other guys consider us more of rock band and that’s fine.”
The Flatbed Twitch Trio will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Palladium on New Year’s Eve. The Bishops and karaoke by P3 Productions will perform in other areas of the Palladium. The Trio are members of the six-piece Flatbed Twitch, which is an all-electric original music band.
The Trio will do mostly cover songs.
“We do everything from Johnny Cash to John Mayer to Keith Urban,” said Jacoba, a 45-year-old Fishers resident. “We do some Beatles. We’ll do a nice variety of sing-along fun songs. We’re all three singers so there’s a very strong three-part harmony on most everything that we do.”
The Trio is lead singer Jacoba and lead rhythm guitar Brett Hogle and lead guitar Mark Hutchins. Hogle lives in Geist area and Hutchins in downtown Indianapolis.
“The three guys in the Trio are the songwriters for the band so that’s the main reason we gravitated towards the Trio,” Jacoba said.
Jacoba said the Trio has been performing more that the full band of late. Jacoba said The Center for the Performing Arts officials approached the Trio because they had perfomed in the VIP room before Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee comedy shows in July.
The full band opened up for John Legend on at private party in the Super Bowl village in Indianapolis. Flatbed Twitch has been playing together for 10-plus years.
At 10 p.m., New Year’s Eve guests will go inside the Palladium to see The Hot Sardines perform.
“Being finished at 10 o’clock on New Year’s Eve is definitely a new one for us,” Jacoba said. “We’re getting older so we don’t mind that at all.”
