Carmel resident named Riley Hospital CMO
Dr. Paul Haut is the new chief medical officer of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University.
Haut is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist and has served as the director of the Riley Stem Cell Transplant Program at IU Health.
Haut isa Carmel resident and associate professor of pediatrics with the IU School of Medicine, and an accomplished researcher at the IU Simon Cancer Center. He assumes the CMO role from Dr. Jeff Sperring, who was named president and chief executive officer of Rileyat IU Health in November.
“Dr. Haut has been a valued and respected member of our Riley family for nearly a decade,” Sperring said in a release. “I’m confident Dr. Haut’s leadership and dedication will help us succeed in that direction.”
As CMO, Haut will serve as a bridge between the Riley at IU Health executive team and medical staff to fulfill the shared vision for the pediatric services. He will work to ensure a consistent standard of medical practice and clinical care, not only in Indianapolis, but at Riley at IU Health affiliates statewide. Haut will oversee Riley at IU Health’s quality and safety improvements, help with physician recruitment and support research and teaching initiatives.
