Caregiver’s conference is rescheduled
Due to a combination of unforeseen events and an overwhelming response from interested sponsors, tonight’s Voice of Aging Family Caregivers’ Conference has been rescheduled for Feb. 26. The event will still be held at the Ritz Charles in Carmel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A detailed agenda can be found at www.thevoiceofaging.com.
“The mission and agenda of the conference is unchanged,” says Carol Applegate, organizer of the conference and founder of The Voice of Aging. “Our event planning team simply faced many challenges generating broad awareness of the conference, especially in attempting to break through the intense focus on the recent election.”
In addition to luncheon keynote speaker Jane Gross, former New York Times correspondent and author of “A Bittersweet Season: Caring for Our Aging Parents and Ourselves,” the conference will feature guest speakers from Indiana University, Community Health and more. Breakout sessions focus on topics such as finding time to focus on your own spiritual health, managing family conflict over caregiving or coping with emotional end of life issues.
“By moving the conference into 2013, I believe we will be able reach a greater number of individuals and families who are dealing with the daily challenges of caregiving,” stated Rick Graham of LifeCare Retirement Solutions, a gold sponsor of the conference. In addition to LifeCare, there are more than 20 organizations committed to sponsoring and exhibiting at the conference to help caregivers better access the resources they need to care for their loved ones and themselves.
Registration is $25 per person or $40 for VIP admission, which includes a private book-signing event with keynote speaker Gross and early admission to the exhibitor fair. Registration is limited to the first 300 people.
Sponsors or registered attendees who find the February date to no longer fit within their schedules may request a refund by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec. 31.
