Well it’s over … but it’s also the beginning of The End. I watch and listen to my country rant and rave about the Presidential candidates and it makes me wonder if they still don’t realize they are being lied to. America, you only have two out of 300 million-something people to choose from, and one of them already strutted [...]

I know this is a touchy subject but it is talked about in our shop a lot. Every time I turn on the idiot box, I see another child has been abducted or beaten or killed. I don’t understand how someone can have this mentality, but that is moot. These predators are out there in every city and neighborhood, and [...]

I don’t know what to think; I am able to give a thumbs-up to two Arts & Design District festivals. The International Arts Festival was busy and so was the barber shop – we had about three new people just walk in, but the important thing is that my customers were able to be informed by our Facebook page about [...]

Most all talk in the shop this week was about politicians and how much we all think, or know, they are crooked, self-centered, selfish, uncaring ego maniacs who really are bigger crooks than Al Capone or any gangster. Is there nobody out there with some moral fiber and who cares more about America and its people than how much power [...]

Yes, the roads closed early and yes, I lost business, but there were people everywhere having a blast. Good food, cool cars, atmosphere and a smell of happy and positive people onMain St. This event works and is done well, and is a relief not to complain about for once; but I didn’t see the regular Arts & Design District [...]

Editor, At the Main Street Barber Shop the whole Chik-fil-A thing has brought more jokes and conversation than I care to discuss, so I thought I’d bring in a different point of view. I’m glad someone still has biblical principals as I do, but I also know that as humans we can be hypocrites. Remember the saying in the Holy Bible [...]

Well, it’s been a while (because Carmel has been pretty calm), but….I’m back! Currently, merchants are participating in “The Art of Wine” event, which does attract a lot of people to the district. But, same as last year, they (you know who you are) obviously didn’t read my article last year. They also didn’t care that street closures starting at 9:45 a.m., [...]

Being a barber, by the end of the day I’ve talked about the weather more than I care to, especially being a Hoosier. I also try to write interesting, shocking or informative articles to entertain or make you think … but dang, I gotta do it! It’s March and I’m wearing shorts, driving with my window down, living with my house windows up [...]

The talk in the shop this week was about some traffic ideas in Carmel. I notice when I drive west on Main Street during the morning school rush, the traffic backs up through the roundabout at Keystone Parkway, stopping traffic just to let a couple of kids cross the road, when usually, there are several groups coming from the neighborhood [...]
