Why was there no mention of how this property (Silvermann House) has been used for years by area scout Troops and Packs? Our Troop holds a Halloween haunted house and camp-out there every year for local Cub Scouts. We’ve also been there for service/conservation projects. It would have been nice if someone had researched more about how this property has been used in the past. Now everyone who has a dog will think that it’s just a piece of property sitting there, waiting for something to happen to it…and of course, be all for putting in a dog park. This has been brought to the CCP&R dept’s attention, as well as, at city hall meetings, but to no avail. I guess it all comes down to the money in the end.

Carmel / Clay has no business allowing an anti gay discriminating group such as the scouts use City / Township property!!!  As the Arts & Design District and the performing arts community grows in Carmel, so will the need for more equality for all.  A Dog Park is a wonderful idea and a much better use of the facility for a once or twice a year event hosted by hateful bigots!
